Two things since the last check. On 2 June 2026 Microsoft presented Majorana 2 and moved its target for a scalable machine to 2029; an independent analysis notes that the headline lifetime figure comes from a single wire in a preprint that is not peer reviewed. On 24 June 2026 Henry Legg of the University of St Andrews published a comment in Nature arguing that the February 2025 evidence for a topological qubit does not hold up, because the protocol gives different answers depending on the measurement window and raw data that was not published look consistent with ordinary quantum dots. We did not find Microsoft's reply in the sources we read. Neither moves this claim's 2035 test, which asks for an industrial-scale problem solved. The published dispute is the independent-replication question this claim was flagged for.

Resolves by 2035-02-19 (+30 day grace). Criteria: This claim names no specific year -- “years, not decades” is a hedge, not a deadline, so it fails intake rule 4 (deadlined) as stated. SymbiQ's own falsifiability construction, flagged as such rather than attributed to Microsoft: resolves NOT_VERIFIED if, by 19 Feb 2035 (ten years from the claim, the outer edge of what “years, not decades” can plausibly mean before it is simply wrong), no topological-qubit system from Microsoft has demonstrated a problem of genuine industrial scale and consequence that a classical computer could not also solve. VERIFIED if one has. This is deliberately a lenient, favourable-to-the-claimant reading of a vague sentence.
